Matthew obtained his Bachelor's of Science in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Calgary in 1994. He graduated with his Bachelor's of Law in 1998 from the University of Alberta, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 1999. Matthew articled with McLeod & Company and has always practiced in the area of plaintiff's personal injury/disability litigation, Insurance Defence (predominantly on behalf of the Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Act), products liability, Minors property rights, Minor's Trusteeship appointments, and to a limited extent, employment law.
Matthew has appeared in both the Provincial and Queen's Bench levels of Court in Alberta predominantly on complex personal injury matters. He continues to handle a busy practice while acting as the co-chair of the Litigation Department at McLeod & Company and head of the Personal Injury Group. Matthew joined the Partnership at McLeod & Company in January, 2006.
Professional and Community Activities
Matthew is involved in the community through his work on the Board of Directors for ARBI, the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured, a not-for-profit Society devoted to the treatment, care and rehabilitation of the minimally responsive, severely brain injured.
Matthew is also an active participant in the Calgary Interclub squash league.
