Jackie was born and raised in Calgary. She studied Political Science and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary, with a minor in Psychology in 1987. She then attended the University of Calgary Law School, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Laws. During law school, she worked as a researcher for the Research unit for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Calgary, as well as working for a major law firm.
Jackie articled at McLeod & Company LLP. She has practised general civil litigation from 1990 to the present time with a particular interest in personal injury litigation from the outset. She has conducted trials in the Court of Queen's Bench and the Provincial Court of Alberta, and has appeared before other administrative tribunals. She has a wide range of civil litigation experience in the areas of insurance law, WCB appeals, employment and general civil litigation. She has participated in other forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and Judicial Dispute Resolutions. Her practice is presently focused solely in the area of Personal Injury Litigation.

Jackie is involved as a busy volunteer on numerous community organizations. She is happily married, with two children. Her spare time is filled with travel, notorious driving for hockey and dance activities, and she is an avid athlete.
