Roy is originally from Calgary and attended the University of Alberta and completed his law school at the Université de Moncton (New Brunswick). Called to the Alberta Bar in 1993, Roy articled and worked in private practice in Alberta before working as in-house counsel in the trust company setting in Alberta, Bermuda and Switzerland with major financial institutions. Roy is bilingual and also has a working knowledge of German. Roy joined McLeod & Company LLP in July 2009.

Professional and Community Activities
Roy holds memberships in STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), The CBA (Canadian Bar Association) - Wills and Estates Section, The Trust Institute (Institute of Canadian Bankers) the AJEFA (Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Alberta) and is on the board of the Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
